Chris White wants to know his neighbors. And he wants his neighbors to know Jesus. About eight years ago Chris White and his wife felt called to move to a specific neighborhood. They started reaching out with gusto—organizing block parties, meeting neighbors, and going door-to-door—with the desire to transform their community. Then one day a neighbor was violently murdered during a home invasion. Fear set in for Chris. Rather than trying to “live large,” he admits he just wanted to “live safe.” Chris went into “self-protection mode” and quit engaging altogether.But he had given his word to God to be a “light” in his neighborhood.
Now fear was stopping him. God convicted Chris of his integrity gap—he was not doing what he said he would do.
